3, I think - it was a Hethel car in the beginning before Gareth took it on, no? In fact could it be 4...did Iain Thomas not run it briefly too?!
Yup, number 1.
Iain Thomas had it before me.
I think Hethel used it for literature.

Now it would be worth having....if Robin learnt to use a sponge and a wee bit of elbow grease.

Back to the new Exige, looks great. Love the rear.
I'm afraid if you want light, buy an S1 Elise.

The tech under the skin is a step forward though. Robin was explaining to me that it has no throttle. Oops! Airflow is managed by the valves themselves, so it's a very fresh approach and means a supercharged Elise can remain in the range which was otherwise killed off by idiots in Brussells.

I doubt Lotus had either the cash or the appetite to revamp the Elise to any greater degree than the new bodywork from last year etc, and they need to continue the differentiation to the Exige as well, IMHO. I expect the Elise will soldier on largely unaltered now until the crazy new S3 arrives with its heftier price tag etc. Fair enough, in my view.

Now, that show car in chrome orange, instead of red, retaining black rims and roof...hmm, tidy...

New Exige is bang tidy. Love it.

Definitely a bit of V8 Esprit in the rear. Rally one with the roofscoop looks good.

Looks like Craig is going to have a lot of orders soon. Starlight Black Exige V6 is my choice.

Yippee…..very nice do like the front very much!......the rear is not quite there for me but fine.
About time in some ways ….personally, there would be a few more tweaks on the styling and at least 100 kg removed, somehow! mainly from the rear to get a good 60-40 balance, back…….would be keen on what they have come up with under the fibreglass……..first thoughts are cooling issues for the intercooler/ charge cooler and engine bay etc…wonder if they have used the evora ally suspension struts instead of steel ones?.......oh and if they will be using semi slicks?.....the car looks like it has normal road tires…..plus, and there’s more, what tranny?.......sequential or flappy paddle? …hopefully sequential gear stick.

Price is probably about right to be honest….wish it was more like 37-40 range….wonder if lotus do finance????

All aside, a :thumbsup form me for lotus making the effort and pushing the brand on
:cheers :cheers

I think I like it.
Certainly like it enough to want to see it in the flesh, but I did like the purposeful look and individuality that the roof scoop (particularly the later full-lenth one) gave.

I can't remember any new Lotus model getting such a positive first reaction both on here and pistonheads. Still a bit of the same ole too expensive/heavy/doesn't look like the old one routine, but nothing like as bad as usual :D

Ultimately the legislators need to take a lot of blame for weight issues, however a good deal of it is in the spirit of safety and for cars like this Exige which can reach silly speeds very quickly, you can't really knock that.

Its weight still easily undercuts anything else in its "class" (does it really have one?) so roll on the first demo at Murray. Jeez Brandon is going to be nervous on the first few test flights...I've been round his route and it has plenty butt clenching sections like blind corners and narrow bridges
