My attempt to make those shockingly pap lights do their job, and to keep Grampian police's finest off my tail.

Shug, it was pretty much spur of the moment, weather not ace, was going to do it solo, but it turned out to be a fantastic day without the weather. Roads were dead, and i got some company....

Mid week runs are the way forward esp. as we head into sunnier months!

Dave's is clean compared to N3. Front number plate was still off from the Spa run, and the rear one was completely mudded out. Fortunately only one police car in the opposite direction, or I would have been pulled.

Very enjoyable run, and even though it was Jamie's first and Dave brushing the cobwebs off, they kept up a good pace with only the odd twitch. However I did disappear on the Cabrach road which Scotty knows well, just like a race track, hardly anybody else ever on it, plus you can see well ahead and I rarely do it from that direction.

Jamie and I left with full tanks, filled up at the end, 31 litres for the 118hp car, 26 for the 300hp, the difference between using the gears a lot, and sitting in 6th. Bloody good job with the price of fuel rising daily.

ps fuel up $15 today thanks to the Egyptian riots and fear of the Suez routing.

Was great to meet you Dave, always good to put a face to a name...and a car!!

Had an awesome first 'real' run, and got on some really great roads. Shame my old lady picked up a cold on the home stretch, but was enjoyable nevertheless and she will hopefully get well soon!

Looking forward to my next wee jaunt and hopefully seeing a few more faces!! :thumbsup

I actually don't think they detract... It's less 'classic scottish landscape' yeah, but I'd not say it was any less impressive...

Sounds like you had good run, I could do with a wee jaunt myself. The fuel economy does sound very tempting I have to say. :thumbsup

I understand, and kinda thought that on first impression. Sadly my later reaction is what comes of being the son of a Scottish landscape photographer

Agreed, all the same, that it's a candidate for the next calendar. Get in.

Thanks Guys, some good feedback! I will be putting 1 up there for Calender shot, but will see which got the highest amount of clicks on the Flickr link!

As for the Pylons, Landscape photography is what interests me most Campbell, but due to the location of the layby, there was not a lot of choice. I have grown to like the shot though with them in it! I cropped them out in a couple and got rid of the power lines, but the angles just didn't work IYKWIM. This one i quite like http://www.flickr.com/photos/dgmhay/5405736966/ but had to crop out the pylon on the right hand side and top left.

Anyway horses for courses, and as Andy said, a thoroughly enjoyable day which was nothing else but driving fun!

Dave :D

Yup, the link you posted shows a great shot Dave. I'd actually crop it tight on the left too, to balance it up, but that's just a personal view. The car's the star, after all :-)

Echo Andy. Thanks for posting about driving Elises in Scotland. :damnfunny
