Graeme from MMC here - what I'm up to next (part one)

Post by GraemeLotus » Sat Dec 25, 2010 7:58 pm

Hello folks

Happy Xmas to all SE dudes, and esp to those who've just collected their cars from me - I don't know who was more excited, you or me, will be last ones (for a while, anyway... )

Well here we go, I can't yet reveal all as I have signed some confidentiality papers, and it affects some people currently working.

I left MMC for a variety of reasons, which, for reasons of professionalism, I won't go into on here; the reasons do not include going off selling cars, Lotuses, or the motoring public, which meant I was going to do something similar.

Plan A was to become a sports car specialist, working with one already established (I won't say who, as who knows what till happen in the future; many of you know, the rest may be able to work it out) to help him run the business, expand it, and have a lot more control, fun, and allow complete focus on customer service - which, as anyone sensible knows, allows the rest of it to follow logically...

And it was all decided - business plan and numbers agreed months ago, web address purchased, timescale etc agreed, then notice handed in.

And then I was hijacked - approached by Lotus, who were very keen to keep me within the franchise. I was offered a job, which, after much consideration, I declined; then, they came again, with such an exciting opportunity that any sane person couldn't turn it down - so I accepted, and I move to Norwich on 2nd of January.

Again, I can't yet say what this role is - but you'll see soon enough why moving to East Anglia won't be such a bind for someone who enjoys Scottish hillwalking as much as me...

But - I'm still at MMC till Hogmanay - I'm in Monday, Wed, Thurs and Friday this week coming if anyone else wants to say cheerio; thanks again to all those who've been in so far - to say I'm touched would be an understatement...

Happy Yule! :cheers

Graeme, Glad you could spill re 1st part of move and looking forward to the full details of the rest of the package, hope the details have worked out and the fine print suits you :thumbsup You will be perfect for the job.

You will be as much of an asset to Lotus as you have been to MMC.

Good luck

You are completely the right person to head up the new "All new models must be extensively tested by members of Scottish Elises* before being signed off" dept.

I know it was supposed to be a secret but surely it's common knowledge by now? My Elan arrives tomorrow. And let's face it any car which can withstand the Tut is certainly ready for the wider public.
