Grand Tourer

The Elise SC is 12 months old. Bought as a retirement present to my wife and myself for fun driving and holidays it has covered 4,500 miles (Golf Diesel does day to day stuff).

Need for trip to mainland for Murrays for year 1 service and some granparenting duties in Hampshire lead me to decide to use the Elise. My wife travelled separately on the way down as I was picking up one of our sons in Yorkshire. As I had plenty of time I made my way to Edinburgh from Aberdeen via Braenmar / Blairgowrie /Perth, great run. Then Service at Murray went well (no problems at all in 1st 12 months) and overnight stay allowed me to take in Robert PLant and Band of Joy at the Usher Hall.

Then on to Yorkshire via A68 another great run.

The next part of the trip was motorway and to my surprise the Elise acquitted itself sell and arrived in the deep South with me feeling good and without the backaches which arise in some cars. Journey north with my other half was also motorway and the car acquitted itself well. A visit to friends in Galloway and Ayr took us along the A75 and A77 in monsoon like conditions and again the Elise acquitted itself very well with no sign of any water leaks. Initially a bit nervous of standing water but experienced no problems.

Car held all the stuff needed for the trip .

So all in all to my surprise the Elise proved to be a great little longer range tourer.

Sadly my wife is having some recent health problems and is finding getting out of the Elise a major problem so may have to put it on the market and go back to an M car.

....im finding the exige surprisingly good as an everyday car. its more comfortable than i imagined it would be too!also theres more room in the boot than i expected and i have done a few shopping trips in her.........super little car!

Glad you're enjoying it - and a shame it might need to go. Evora would be easier on the other half for getting in and out and is even more practical
