Just to rub it in...

Post by Gareth » Tue Sep 06, 2005 9:35 am

Pauline from Murrays has invited me down to KH on Tuesday.
Lotus are sending up a new Exige and SUPERCHARGED Exige for pax laps with some pro drivers and the chance of those invited to try them. Also get to take my car on track. From 9am - 5pm!!

Now, hands up who's jealous!! :D

So, forecast for rain. That should make for some entertainment with 48's.

Open pitlane from 9am to 5pm for my car and others willing to take
their toys on the track.

Arrived for 9am start at a typical very wet KH. First up to test
drive the Exige.

Awesome. So well put together and when the 2nd cam comes in you
really get pushed into the seats. Seemed very easy to drive.
Whoever says Yoko 48's are crap in the wet has obviously never tried
them. The Exige felt grippier in the wet with these on than my car
feels in the dry.

So, confidence gained and I took my car out on track which is now
torrential downpour. Brilliant fun. The best fun I've had in my car
and so much better than being on a dry track. Maybe I'm just like
Schumi in the wet <BG>.

Pull in to test drive the 240. IMO, night and day between this and
the Exige. None of this 2nd cam pull, just power deliver all the way
to 8K rpm. Scenery just becomes a blur.

Anyway, got speaking to Graham about the 135R he brought down. Iains
old car. So having serious considerations about that this week
although not fully sold on the colour.
