Glasgow Parking

Post by Shug » Tue Sep 13, 2005 4:30 pm

Right, my weegie chums,

Used to park up Woodlands, pre meters, but don't want to get ass-humped by them now. I'll have to bring the Elise up tomorrow (well, if I'm gonna be on this run ;) ) so who's got ideas for free (or cheap as poss) parking in Glasgow - I work on Bath Street...

My option 2 is Gorbals and Underground, but while I'll happily leave the old merc there, I'm a bit more twitchy about the Liz. Any better 'park by the underground' options?

you can park close to kelvinbridge underground say at north woodside road. or next to glasgow academy which is quite a nice little area with not too many cars ripping up the narrow streets.

i park the company car along kelvinhaugh street, just at the turnoff opposite boardwise along argyle street. means the dudes from BW can watch my brief - which they're happy to do mainly because they borrow it to take advantage of the free petrol come boarding season!

also there's residential parking along herbert street where it'll be off the road in a fairly nice area - think to be honest this would be my choice if i was bringing the elise into town and not wanting to pay parking. it's a nice area, where will be plenty of spaces and so long as you don't rip the pi55 and do it every day the residents won't mind but if you do it all week you'll get a sticker on your window! ooooh a sticker, yeah that'll scare me into not parking here!! lol

Shug,
Scotland Street would be a better option given the direction we are heading after work.
Failing that then the cheapest car park I have used is the one in Cadogan St, but it i'll still cost about £10 for the day.

Cheers all, will pick one tomorrow ;-)

I'll not be out of work till 6 at the earliest, so after the walk to the car, I'll be about 45 minutes after you guys. Then I'll have to pick up the pax, so we'll see - I'll be there for the coffee course anyway!!
