I'm with mak you can't beat the vaio and if you look arround you can get some good deals especially on the larger ones.

Ed what are you doing with your old machine?
i have a vaio that i need to repair as it got run over so the screen is fcuk i'm not too bothered about looks but would like to fix it so would buy your old one to to play with the bits. anyone else fancy a challenge????

Stephen I've got an old Viao that has a good screen, but one of the hinges is broken and has some boot-up problems (technical term!)
Might fit your machine, what model is yours? Or I could try you motherboard or processor.....

Mine is a Z1,
I think the mothreboard on mine is ok but I'm a bit scared to touch it in case the movement will kill it.

If you still wanting a latop old faithful my 12" powerbook is going to be replaced by a sexy new macbook in the near future

if feel like a change and go down the mac route

Turns out my computer is almost as big a booze jokey as me! 8)

Took a few more days to recover though! :wink:

edit: forgot to mention she lives again, i cant believe it!!, but will still be getting a new one!
