Keep an eye out for Evora's!!

Post by YvoTuk » Fri May 01, 2009 11:22 am

Just received this from Lotus:

The new Lotus Evora will be put through its paces by over 70 of the most discerning international journalists over the next two weeks.

The first official press drives of the Lotus Evora will take place from 4th-15th May on the wonderful roads of the Scottish mountains and lochs, so please keep an eye on the Evora website to access the reviews via hyperlinks.

With the delivery of the first of these hand-built British cars only weeks away in early June, we'll soon let you know when Lotus dealers have Evora demonstrators available for you to arrange that long awaited test drive!

The Evora remains true to Lotus core values and the principles of our founder Colin Chapman. It combines an outstanding combination of performance and efficiency together with our world renowned ride and handling, all in a unique and practical 2+2 mid-engined and beautifully styled package. The Lotus Evora - a true Lotus with true character

I guess you will be seeing some of them shortley :D

From the right up's I've read by authors who have driven and Elise/Exige the Evora's likely to win out over an Elise/Exige in std form ~off course not a Honda'd S1

I think it was in Autocar but the exige was pushing on to keep up with the Evora, Still be nice to see more of them in the flesh  :thumbsup  :thumbsup

I'm sure Graeme said that Lotus claim the Exige 240, or maybe even 260, was struggling to keep up with the Evora on their test track or a road test.

Yeah, right, and don't tell me, whatever Evoras Graeme sells will be the only ones in that colour/spec on the planet :D

Looking forward to seeing an Evora in the flesh, and am very curious to see what the press will make of it. It is going to have to be very good indeed to win sales in these credit crunched times. I really hope it is a success for Lotus.

Might have been me, or Graeme maybe heard the same story I did  This was on road, not track.

I've got a feeling the car will be quite well received by the press.

I was speaking to the guy from TintHaus today while he was fitting some more Venture-Shield film to my car - he said that Murrays have pre-ordered 17 film kits from them to fit to customers new Evora's so it certainly sounds like they are selling well so far.

What a twat.............

tut

"Take the Lotus Elise. It squeaks. It rattles. It drones. It vibrates. It’s hard to get into and impossible to get out of, ( maybe if it is a wanker that is trying to get out), It’s badly equipped and hard to operate. All of this might have been acceptable 13 years ago when the Elise first came out and it might be acceptable today if it were the last word in zip and vigour.

But it isn’t. Compared with even a Golf, it feels old and slow and understeery. It’s a 20th-century car in a 21st-century world where last Friday is already last year. And the last new car Lotus made, the Europa, was even worse."
