Post by tenkfeet » Thu Jun 08, 2006 6:14 am

Anybody got any recommendations for a place to get Elise tyres in Glasgow? I only need fronts so will be sticking with the Brigestones.

Recommended as a bunch of guys who actually know what they are doing.
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

Have a look in the SE offers section at the bottom. Phil collins in Johnstone I think. I just had a chat with him. He's sound and said he would be v. good at negotiating a price. He knows JJ from golf club.

Its a guy I know from the golf club who has his own tyre place in Johnstone, and hes a TOYO / YOKOHAMA dealer (as well as others) and his prices are always good I`ve found, so give him a call if you are needing anything.

Collins Tyre Services, Johnstone, on 01505 33 6666, and ask for Phil. (yes his name is Phil Collins )

Jsut spoke to a lad in the office who claimed the ordered in some tyres for a Forrester. Might see if I nip down there with him at some point.

To clarify - they only supply the Michelins - not their BFG branded stuff any more.

Not 100% sure about it, but I think that's what I heard.

I think I read on Seloc that they can still order the BFG's if Michelin don't do the 'same' tyre..

Maybe worth a search on S####, maybe not

That was the original situation - I'd heard that they now did not oder the BFGs as a Michelin alternative (even though they are the same company)

auckinlee tyres out by wishaw are very cheap for special order car tyres. you'll have to give them a bit of notice to get them in obviously but they normally deal in commercial vehicles and so don't normally have much of an idea what the car tyres should cost! consequently they tend to be a good bit cheaper than anywhere else.
