Just to say my car is not quite standard (Nitrons) and there was nothing in it (Martin beat me on the Saturday). He was obviously quicker than me up the straights and had (I think) slightly shorter gearing. On Sunday's dry track I was able to make more use of grip provided by the Nitrons and was a bit quicker.

VXT an excellent road car IMO and can be easily modded for lots more power, disable ABS, handle well on track etc.

Not the Shape for me though, and I also prefer the Elise Interior.

Cheers,
Ali

Supposed to be quicker than any 16-17k Elise & ooodles of torque low down for pootling around town & lazy driving. On saying that, Ali Crozier beat a VX220T up the hill at Fintray earlier in the month in his standard S2 111s.

ABS on the VX is indeed gash on track, so most of the trackday VX'ers have a cut off switch.

However if you drive like a girl on track (hello ! ) then uprated pads make a massive massive difference. In saying that the lardy VXT weights 100kgs more than mine. :P

I recent post on SELOC summed it up for me when the guy said in isolation a VXT is stunning, but compare it to a S1 / S2 / Exige and it can be found wanting in certain areas. But compared to everything else on the road it is just that - stunning. Tis a hell of bargin tho.

EDIT : in the cold light of day that was far too harsh! The brakes are exactly the same as a Lizzy, only they have servo assistance and ABS. As i've said the ABS can be a bit problematic when it gets hot on track, but other than that its ok in general road use. I've stuck Mintex 1144s on my car and they are night and day compared to standard.

You need to be on the presence of a fire breathing Chrome Orange S1 Exige at full tilt. Job done.

Lumpy - yes.

but factor in cash for the PTP driveability kit or extra cash for TB's and your lumpyness will be gone.

Cheers
