Avoid AJ Johnstone like the plague!!

Overpriced and under-skilled!!

Far too many people I know have had bad experiences there.

Either Canon UK (down south) or Cameratiks in Edinburgh ( http://www.camerabase.demon.co.uk/linktiks.html)
for repairs to Canon cameras. Edinburgh crew have a very good reputation and have dealt with my gear before.

Some credit card companies give 100 days insurance for goods that you buy using the card (eg cameras  )

Most have done away with it but I'm pretty sure Nationwide still offer this, if you were thinking of purchasing a "replacement"

Try your local camera club - someone there may be able to assist you or suggest something.

Failing that - check your holiday insurance or your home insurance for accidental damage.

Surely it's worth the excess to get a new camera.

It won't put your home insurance policy price up by much - it's probably going to go up anyway - everything else is!

If you've never claimed or not claimed for years they should be ok about it.

Thanks andy_snap, I'll give Cameratiks a call today see if they can give me a better quote :thumbsup

It's had nearly a whole can of compressed air sprayed inside, tapped, shaked and still no better so will leave it to a pro now!
