Which exhaust is this? see pic....

Post by jj » Wed Aug 03, 2005 11:23 am

I am on the hunt for something a bit louder than my standard exhaust, and found this one on ebay. The guy says he`s replaced "his original exhaust" with a janspeed, but this isnt an original exhaust is it, is this not the Lotus Sports one?
I am sure a neighbour of mine when I stayed in Edinburgh had one with this tailpipe and it was rather meaty.

Looks like a mild steel Janspeed Exige exhaust. Facking loud!

CRP already on. Not loud enough.

Its sewingmachine silent on idle, just want a wee bit more noise - it doesnt sound purposeful .....

Will keep an eye on the auction, if its mild steel I suppose it will have a life expectancy but if its cheap enough then its surely worth a go.

I'm looking for an exhaust with a little more note to it as opposed to the standard, and mine's pretty well rotten. It hasn't bust yet but its pretty shagged! :( Equally tho I don't want to loose any more of my hearing, any suggestions? Preferrably stainless steel, as soon as I'm worried about weight in the car I'll go on the diet!

Exhausts are an iffy subject... one man's nicely rorty is another man's too effing raspy, etc ad nauseum!

Best idea is to get along to Knockhill when there are a pile of cars going and get nosy about who's got what. It's really the only way to find out for sure :)

I had a look at the sellers feedbacks left for others, and hes bought items off the current highbidder before. Anyone who knows ebay will know what I'm on about, its the classic getting your mate to bid things up trick.... Going to keep an eye on it anyway, worth a punt up to 100squids.

Whats the eliseparts s1 zorst like?

To the best of my knowage the exhaust in the picture is either a janspeed or a lotus sport exhaust - made by guess who - janspeed.
There is also a strong liklihood that it is SS. I have one on my car.

Mine sounds pretty good. When bumbling about it's not too loud as its got a deep note. When you open up it sounds great. I have not fitted my CRP yet though.
