S2 Sports Tourer - Need Rear tyres......

Post by a4drk » Fri Nov 02, 2007 11:37 pm

What do i do?

The fronts are the standard Bridgestone RE040's 175/55/16's
The rears are bald Michelins (225/45/17's)

What i probably will do is buy a 2 x RE040's to match the fronts.... however,

A few months ago i read that someone put a set of 4 Yoko's on & said the cars handling improved imensely.
However, i cannot afford new fronts & the current ones have 6mm.

My last car, (A Westfield Megablade) had Yoko A048's all round & they were incredible. When they warmed up, they were as sticky as a half chewed Fruit Pastel.

I was thinking of puting Toyo R888's or Yoko A048's on the rear & eventually putting a 195/?? on the front eventually.

Anyone know how it would handle with Sticky A048/R888 on the rear & RE040's on the front?

Thoughts please.........

Don't mix 48s/R888s with bridgestones and you shouldn't be putting sticky tyres on unless you have wider front wheels. Get a full set of Yokohama AD07s from MMC, easily the best all round tyre for the S2 :thumbsup

Good shout - thanks.

I might sell the front tyres on the forum - they have 6mm tread on them.
