I was just gonna post the same thing... Senna was his hero, helmet colours etc. And yes, I'd go too...

...and if I was going I think I'd happily tell people of my reverence for him.

Not sure that's 'charm offensive' :?

At the start of the season, in an interview with Antony Hamilton, it was stated that the yellow helmet was so he could spot his son in the crowd of karts.

What, there are karts mixing it out there with the F1 cars? Ah, that explains a few things then ;-)

that is correct.

However, Lewis is on record as saying Senna WAS his biggest influence/hero. The visit is post-race too, so if he wins the championship or not he'll go - if it was beforehand, I'd see it as more of a publicity stunt.

Another point - how many people here, if they were in Sao Paulo with time to spare, WOULDN'T go to the Senna memorial?

I'd go.

I'm just not sure if a racing driver should involve himself in spin (pun intended)

Would much prefer if he just stuck to doing his talking in the car like Kimi rather than courting the press at every turn.

Agreed. One of the things I really like about Kimi is that he doesn't give a monkeys about image and the media. Remember the classic from Schumacher's last race? When asked on live TV why he wasn't at the front of the grid with all the other drivers for Schumacher's farewell presentation Kimi cooly replied "I was taking a sh*t" :D .
