Standard? WTF?

on another discussion board.....american chappy says this is his track day car which he has 'improved' to 'make it lighter'..... :?

described it as a 'monster'.....what? monsterous as in home butchery?

Is this a US only spec :?:

if so fair dos, just havent heard anything like it before.....there are no other mods at all on the vehicle......I asked if the S1 might have been a better investment but seems they are 'too smokey'.......ok, get the bit about the US emissions (Tokyo Summit?) but still, if its a track only car does that mean it still has to pass emissions? He passed on this but probably because i found it was driven to a 'show'.....

is the guy looking in thinking "why did he cut the screen off?"

Just interested to see if its a stateside thing or me being stoopid again

http://www.sector111spyder.blogspot.com/

on there you can follow it from start to finish.

I can just imagine the moment when, half way through him chopping up his car, Lotus announced the 2-11

TBH... from the pic posted above, I don't think it's too bad for a car that's going to spend it's life on track. Windscreens do weigh a bit and plenty of Caterfields are screenless. Now that the 2-11 is around it actually makes his look like a familiar shape Hope he's removed the rear window too.. so the air doesn't just hit a vertical flat surface.

There was a post the other day/week about the 2-11 and how Lotus should have launched an entry level one that was at a lower price point... seems to be what this guy has tried to do (but without the variable traction control gadget).
I have no signature.

Quite a few have attempted such a mod, but using a deer or an Audi is not the best way....

I like the idea behind it (especially as IIRC the 2-eleven is not on sale in the US) but the execution is a bit rough IMO, especially for something that’s being used to advertise a business.
