Vegetarian vauxhall
I'm just a little nervous about filling up the 6 month old astra with Brake Brothers finest and messing up the sensors or something. If a fuel pump was to go however work would cover it, I just wouldn't be very popular for a while that's all. BUT if it did work the boss could use it in his New X5 and give us all a payrise with the savings.

Bump, how do you find it Thinforth? Is your Landy a 300 or a TD5 do you know if the TD5 will run on Veg oil (not that my wallet will allow me one).Titanium S1 111S (gla) wrote:I’m thinking of chopping in my Discovery for a 90 300 TDI and was hoping that I could run that on Veg oil. I’ve heard that it is worth putting in a bit of the real thing as well but have no personal experience.
When I was in Costco the other day I did notice that the budget veg oil was 40p a litre so a good saving. It comes in 25L cans so nice and easy to deal with too.
Will need to ask Thinforth when he gets back from his travels.

Thanks Thinfourth, I'll be interested to hear what you find out and I might do a bit of googling myself.
Like I said it doesn’t really matter about the TD5 since they are still well out of my price range. I recon that sensibly I'm looking at a fair to good 300 and if I can run it on chip fat so much the better.
Thanks
