I had never bee to a proper classic auction until the recent Coys auction at the PCGB day.
Having read most of the descriptions of the cars up for auction I was really looking forward to seeing beautifully presented classic and 'modern' classic Porsches.
What a pile of cr#p. Badly presented poor examples of cars wrongly described or at the least optimistically described. Half ar#ed repairs, poor paintwork and repro cars.
A 911T in grey, which I think then appeared as a private sale on p'heads, with paintwork like sandpaper, a colour change, though from either gold or red to grey and only available to the American market, presented as an unconverted RHD!!!!!
Caveat emptor.
if evolution don't take care of it, redesign it

There is a procedure to starting this monster however. An immersion heater warms the engine oil from the mains. Twenty minutes later, press the black button to start the ignition and fuel pumps and again to turn the engine over. Tickle the throttle and BAM. A V12 fed with scaffolding off-cuts and rocket fuel. The four side-exit exhausts banging in turn.
The local MoT station, used to most things, had real problems when this bowled up. Mike Tyson is not a nice man. Would I let him look after my children? Would I take this on the road?
