Exige Info...

Post by sonicrisk » Sat Sep 01, 2007 11:19 am

Hi guys and galls of the group, I'm considering trading my fantastic little 111r up for an Exige S and was wondering if there was anyone out there who had any stories to tell about their ownership experiences, or indeed just heard about any issues with them. I'm in the Glasgow area and would be interested to have a wee look around one if their owner was willing.

Cheers,

Nick.

Hi Nick I

have a standard Exige and happy to talk to you about owning that for over two years - not too sure if anyone on here has an Exige S in the Glasgow area or not.

Cheers,

Ken.

Why not pop along to Murray Motors in Edinburgh and have a look at them? There's a couple for sale in there at the moment and I'm sure you could probably get a drive in one if you were intersted in buying.

Cowan (The Hoff on here) has had his for a wee while now, so might be along to comment.

Thanks guys, the earliest I can get to Murrays would be next weekend, was hoping to see something a bit sooner than that! Besides, I know they dont have a white or red one.

I've driven the S.

Quality for the road, substantially quicker than the 111r as you don't need to worry about keeping it on cam so much. Graham wasn't thanking me for that test drive, and i think their demo may still have some of his hand prints on it, and the brace bar in the pax footwell may have a shoe print or two! (a few pacey overtakes! Sorry!)

On track, not that much quicker than a normal Exige TBH.

Quality car - was very tempted with one. Although there are some 240r Cups about for less money used? More poke, rarer, and better on track? Check out pistoheads.

Just waiting on Graham to get back to me. Is the red one an 'S'. 40k seems a lot for a 240 cup, as I recall, all those optional extras mean NOTHING come trade in time!!!!! Pistonheads have one 4 34k.

don't agree - Exige S's are already at £25k (for a 4.5k example!) - they do (240r's) depreciate but their limited edition and good track spec, combined with rarity mean they do so a lot more slowly. I know what I'd rather have - a specced Exige S will run you the best bit of 38-40!

There was a 240r for £29 (2004) last week.

agree with shooomer,

spoke to MMC about a 111R a while back and then ended up goin to a dealer down south.

got a newer car, better spec with less miles for less money than MMC were asking.

not the only SE member to use them as well.
