Been offered a swap... advice welcomed!

Post by tadltd » Wed Aug 29, 2007 7:31 pm

After harping on in another thread about the Elise vs. VX220 my hand has been (almost) forced.

I have been offered a swap for this car: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0159352502
against my SEAT Ibiza Cupra 1.9TDi.

On the face of it it looks like a good deal, the guy wants a fast diesel to transport him to work 5 days a week, and it seems - financially - like a fair swap. However, I realise I may have rose tinted spec's on here, so any advice, comments welcome!
Best Regards,

Steve.

I had an S2 the same as that for a while and enjoyed it. Same colour / spec.

It looks a good spec and has had a fair bit of work done going by the advert - and given that it sounds like you could sort any issues yourself  - if the money is right I`d go for it.

I have no idea what the ibiza would be worth but I guess you know. I would say the S2 is probably worth 11-11.5 easy. I got 10250 for mine but it had done double the miles of that one.

If the monies stack up, I would go for it. Saves hastle of selling your car / or loosing out on a trade in.
