If it's coming from lower down then either one of the crankshaft end seals or the head gasket (but not in a bad way, just oil->air). Could also be the sump I suppose - seen that once or twice - especially with it just coming and going - had forgotten about it until a moment ago. I was thinking of the upper part of the manifold, but dripping onto the pipes where they run under the sump would create much the same smoke ... I'm sure it'll be easy enough to find anyway.

Cheers,
Robin

Hi Cammy

Was it engine oil or gearbox oil???

I had the same problem a few years ago with box oil coming out the vent on the top.

Robin

I think that I checked the camshaft end seal, as I had one go a few years ago, and that caused an engine oil fire on the manifold.

The engine/bay on the 340R is very hard to see into, but although there appeared to be more oil on the lower end, there was also some around the top pipes, as if it had been sprayed around.
