Backtracking a wee bit - it's a fair point, but it's simple economics. There are fewer cars & drivers up here, so it's not economically viable. When Walshy used to come up, he'd be booked solid, but you'd never keep that sort of interest the year round and make a viable business from it.

The old timers will remember when we used to pay £15 for Crail.

Our S_E1 photo on Yahoo used to be a pic of us all lined up in front of our Motorhome which Verian drove down to provide coffee and bacon butties.

FWIW... I received an email back from Vanessa @ Car Limits intimating the only reason they don't do one up here anymore is because of the council/Crail 28 day per year issue.

She reckons that if us lot can think of an alterative venue up here, then they would consider doing dates for 2008:-
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
"I'm very sorry, but at the moment Crail is restricted by the council to only operate less than twenty eight days a year. Due to this, the organisers only want to put on the large revenue events, such as the Crail Thrash. This means that it is far too expensive for us and our customers to operate out of Crail, hence why the Scottish groups are making the pilgrimage down to us at North Weald.

We currently have North Weald booked for the rest of the year, however if you know of any suitable locations in Scotland then we could arrange training there for 2008.

If you are worried about the length of the time/wear and tear during the journey down, then we do hire out our Lotus Elise for the course and Stansted Airport is not far from us.

Sorry there was no quick answer of "yes, we operate out of Crail!"
