anyone know COVE BAY south of Aberdeen ?
anyone know COVE BAY south of Aberdeen ?
looking to use a hotel for a nights stay on my way north. just want to check its ok place to leave the car sitting about ?
Scott... when I called the Copthorne in April, they said they had only 15 spaces that could not be booked.... 1st come 1st serve. That's why I didn't book it. HTH.
The Norwood was actually not bad... and a decent price. There was a wedding going on though 1st night which kinda took over... so we went out and got wellied up town.
Andy.

Not thinking of the Altens Thistle are you? Its not the nicest to be fair - you could get better. I wouldn't be worried about leaving the car in Cove but there's b*gger all up there (and its always foggyscott_e wrote:looking to use a hotel for a nights stay on my way north. just want to check its ok place to leave the car sitting about ?

If its not just a place to sleep and you want to go out and about you'll be headed into to town anyway so then it would make sense to be more central...there's plenty of hotels in town with car parks. If you want to be a bit out of town but still within fifteen mins walk try the West End. If you're feeling flush try Queens Road but plenty smaller ones like the Mariner or Palm Court with private car parks. No worries leaving Elises/Exiges at the side of the road in West End - enough folk do!
Hotel rooms are pretty difficult to come by too. Aberdeen has one of the highest occupancy rates in the country at the moment. It might not be so bad at the weekend though.
The Palm Court could be a good bet for a small hotel. It's been closed for a while getting refurb and extension and only re-opened a few weeks ago. The extension isn't finished so you might get a good deal. It's a great location just out of the centre of town.
I agree that Ardoe House, Marcliffe, Thaistone House and Pittodrie House are all very nice.
