Car is mostly used for touring. I did get through a set of rears in 2 weeks when I did 8x days heading through Europe to Alps to drive the mountain passes in Switzerland, Italy and Austria + 4x days touring the Scottish Highlands
Sounds like you really enjoy your car :drive - nice work :thumbsup

Fronts are £ 160
Rears are £ 165

With mixed driving
Fronts should last 10,000
Rears should last about 4000 (4000-5000 if driven very easy)

The Swiss & Highlands trips was about 3000-3500miles

I use mines a daily driver, and don't drift or nothing...no track days yet either. I still have full tread all way round at 5.5K miles.

Gary... if you want to test out some 48's to see how soft they are/quick they wear... I'll do you a straight swap if your tyres are still full tread... I've got 2.9mm left on all 4.

Snapper... although not a Lotus garage, if you are stuck, Dreadnought TVR might be worth a call when in Central Scotland. They've done work on a couple of Lotus's and Paul used to own one (then smashed it and built it up again). They are normally quite busy... no longer work weekends, but are open later in the evenings now.

What do I have then? I think I went for standard S2 option at purchase...

What the hell are advans....

A048s? That number seems to be associated with tyres quite a lo in these forums. I havent a clue, I just know they're round, black and made of rubber.

Look at your tyre wall for a name.

A048s are standard on Exiges but all the guys & gals love them on all Elises and Exiges for track use. They are awesome in the dry and like bars of soap in the wet and are basically racing slicks with a cut in them every now and again.

They are actually pretty awesome in the wet too Ken - the second race at Combe showed just how good they can be - keep off white lines and kerbs though.

Gary - I can run you through the tyre diffs when you are around getting your car serviced by Ali

Advans should last you about 20,000 miles

This must be a night mare for Exige owners in Scotland if Murreys in Edinburgh is the only stockist. How do you coupe?

We buy our 48s from Wheelsaround. They arent LTS spec but they are far cheaper than the stealers and i cant tell the difference! :)
