Another great read is the Prof's book, life at the limit and to a lesser extend his follow up "life beyond the limit".

Both very, very interesting.

One has to remember that Perry is a great laugh, but a royal pain in the arse! Every team he's ever driven for can't be wrong

Funny as f**k, but a bit of a legend in his own ego.....

Personally, I think they've got the team about right ATM. You're not supposed to like everyone, everybody has one they identify with - that's the joy of casting.

Yeah - know what you mean about being a legend in his own ego. Managed to dine out on what must have been one of the most fleeting F1 appearances (did he ever make it to the start line?)

But seems like a geniune guy, the most endering fact being that I think we can all relate to him and wish we had the single mindedness to do it ourselves.

Actually met him (fleetingly) at Le Mans 2003 (book signing & brief chat). Pretty genuine, as you say, but you got the impression he'd be capable of some pretty primadonna behaviour - you can tell when you're in my game!

Still, he did, indeed, go that bit further than 99% of us would be prepared to, to race cars. For that, he gets a doffed cap from me
