Red Audi unmarked police car - Renfrewshire

Post by dezzy » Thu Jun 14, 2007 9:03 am

Spotted a red Audi A4 (I think, may have been an A6) with a blue light attached to the top of it on Elderslie main road this morning, so watch out for it if you're in the Renfrewshire / Glasgow area. It should be pretty obvious with the light attached to the top, but I've never seen them use an audi (or a red car for that matter) as an unmarked car before.

Didn't see any badges on it. Perhaps it was, but I thought a fire brigade vehicle would be marked as such. :scratch

Generally they just have a badge in the front corner of the windscreen - above/below the tax disc.

red focus probably CID...on good authority

Audi - could be senior Fire Oficer or above if blue light magnetic attachment.

Uncle retired Fire Chief...no markings except perhaps for Brigade badge on screen...but that can sometimes be like the Police School badges Cops have got on screens...which you can buy for friends etc from the shop at Tull....

as said....Green for Doc.

Focus are used by Supervisors ( Sergeants etc) can't stop you but can summon patrol cars to do so- currently 3 red & 1 black in EK.

Sounds exactly like the doctor's car that scoots about between Inverclyde & RAH in Paisley- lovely fire engine red too.... 8)

Given me a few frights in the rear view mirror right enough... :)

Bertie, doctor's cars have green lights. I'm convinced these were blue, but it was early in the morning and my eyes might not have woken up!

Your right, it is blue, and I though it must be fire brigade too, but have seen it at the hospitals a few times and also a 'doctor on call' sign in the window. :scratch

He isn't giving out tickets, which is the main thing :D
