Elephant

Just got a quote from elephant for the insurance on the VX (all mods declared), and they are the best by some distance, however i have (for perhaps irrational reasons) always been wary of them.

Has anyone ever had to claim with them etc, just want to know if they are a bunch of c*nts really

Waiting on a call back from A Plan as well.......

My brother wrote off a car whilst with them, 100% his fault, and had no problems atall with the claim system / payout / timescale. Like any company of that size, its going to be a mized bag of reports, and they will have problems occasionally.

I had an 'off' at Knockers last year in my Elise and other than not supplying a replacement vehicle as I insisted on using MMC for the repair instead of someone from their approved list, Elephant were spot on. No problem with customer service, their attitude or timescales for the repair.

And they were the cheapest by some margin.

Do you mean on the way to / from Knockers?

The elise insurance is due in a week so I called Elephant for a quote and it was almost 200 quid more than A-Plan

I had a bad experience with them when i wrote off my brand new coop S.... Again 100% my fault - they took 4 months to settle it due to "losing" my car during the transportation of it from the crash scene to the bodyshop...

Finally got it sorted and have to admit everyone else i know has never had any problems with them so more than likely just an unlucky one off!

Careful, even with aplan..... I recently got my renewal through for my golf. £650! HOw much?!?!?!

Got them down to £400 inc free legal and hire car........

I fecking hate insurance companies..............

I moved to Elephant when i has the S1 and stayed even after selling it. Went to 'confused.com' to check and their search showed Elephant £200 cheaper than anyone for the Exige S2 @ £480 fully comp. Not bad at all.

Add someone to the quote as well and watch the discount jump in. Drop's over £100 by adding someone else to the cover.

I will be changing from elephant due to my renewal being £250 more than last year

A-plan were £1200 and adrian flux £1300

Try Chris Knott they will try to beat anyone by 10% and are Mod friendly

I was £715 more on renewal from Elephant -£780 went up to £1495

I politelty declined to renew!
A plan sorted me out for £680.

Elephant renewal quotes are always more expensive than new quotes as they add up to 50% discount to get the business (so i've been told....)

If you decline the renewal and go back to their website you'll almost certainly get it cheaper than the previous year...

I did on my last car - £1250 fully comp renewal £1400 - back to their website and i got it for £870. (BMW 330)

Elephant / admiral seem fine for non moded cars (panda is insured through them as was my mx5) but I've always found the brokers to be cheaper when the car is modded.

ie called flux to tell them about exige suspension and ended up chatting to the guy for about 10 mins about car. conversation finished with "that's that added to policy and I've put it through as no cost"

I have previously insured with Elephant. When they tried to push up the premium on renewal I did an online quote with the same details and then gave them a call to ask why there was such a difference. They were happy enought to match the online / new customer quote although it did take half an hour of my life.
