Who's paying what ?

I am currently shopping around for insurance and am getting quite shocked by the quotes . I am curious what people are paying and circumstances . So what you paying , what car , mods , age. etc ? Renewal was £1000 for two cars Elise alone was £739.

I am

S2 111s 2003 , £16k with mods, lowered , alloys , harnesses , exhaust and induction kit . Ok Glasgow area , garaged . 34 years of age No points . One accident last year . 7 years no claims.

Edit : Settled for £579 Elise alone with Admiral Taking my Dad off saved me £150 the figure I saved last year . I can only assume its because he turned 70. So £794 for two cars  And err you have modified you car since last year

A Plan for Elise was £615, high excess, no driving other cars . Really helpful.
Kris Knott £579.99 policy restrictions (asked to be called last ) . Really helpful , I feel bad not taking it

I have removed my Admiral rant .

I'm the same as that with me (33 and 3 points 10 years no claims) on my modded 2003 VX (suspension, splitters, chip, zaust, remap etc) with VXJON as an occassional driver.

Thats for 12k class 1 business, no garage and a postcode that's usually on fire.

I know the VX is a lower insurance group (16) but it still sounds like you are being humped.

Bell were easily the cheapest for me, and Chris Knott then beat their quote by 10%

EDIT : Actually if the accident was your fault that might not be too bad........

42, no points, each policy with full NCD, garaged, rural postcode, 5k miles / year, insured for Wendy and myself.

Both with A-Plan for just now (but have been quoted substantially less with agreed value from elsewhere so will be renewing with Michael Ward Associates)

S1 Exige 190 (2001, no mods) £305
S2 Elise 111R (2001, Stage2 exhaust and induction system) £289

Bog standard VX N/A
parked on the drive
0 no claims (as new second policy)
pleasure only limited to 6K miles per year
Age 32 with the better half as named driver (29) <- she reduced the cost by approx £150

Just over £220 with flexi bell (not got the policy here to check exact value can edit later)

(Note - only a 10 month policy to build no claims quicker)

Well chuffed :)

From reading this lot it looks like I'm being slightly screwed. S2 Exige kept on road, 30, 3 points (at time of renewal), 9 years NCB, 10,000 miles with business and track cover for about £900 through A-Plan. Admiral had quoted similar for my renewal but without the track cover.

Last year was £600 for the Exige and Puma, (400/200 split) with Admiral multicar insurance. 31, full NCB clean license (touch wood!), car sadly not garaged but a reasonable postcode seems to help! Putting my dad on the insurance actually increased the cost for some reason :?

Just renewed with esure for $365(pounds) - 32, s1 111s, 3 points, garaged, 5 yrs NCD, 8k p/a. Adding my sister reduced it by $100. This was by far the cheapest quote I've had; the rest were in the mid to high 500s. Oh, $750 excess. Doh.
