Interesting, I'm 27 3 years NCB, but elephant quoted me £1,300, and when the schedule came through it had Exige 240 R on it.

I phoned back, told them it was just a standard Exige, and apparently that made no difference to the premium.

Just shows how little they know!

But I might try getting a quote online as 'someone else' and see if it's any different.

Thats very odd. I've been going back and forward between admiral and elephant and there was virtually no difference between S1 ,S2, 111R, exige. About £700. Male, 26, 4yrs NCB, also including GF,28 4yrs.

Did you try confused? I take it its got tracker etc etc.

for the past 3 years, elephant have sent me through an increased renewal, i go online, get a better quote then phone them up and they match it.

1300 does seem high. i'm 24 with a modified S1 and its 700 quid. thats with 3 years NCB.

play about with the quotes online then phone up and complain

I changed from the S1 to the Exige when my renewal was up last week, and it was £80 more than the S1, despite the fact its insured value is 2.5times the S1 and its 5years newer. Work that one out. :?

I think perhaps that I'm a girl, and my bro has convictions might be the problem.

Hmm.

Just tried online with elephant entering the exact same details (this time not with the 240 R tho!) and it came back £300 cheaper than what I paid last week.

Emailed them to tell them this, and that I expect them to reduce my premium accordingly!

We'll see what they say.

I found it helped to be a bit inventive if they ask for your best quote so far... :)

Mandy's 28 with 5 years NCB.

AON (esteem) did her S1 for a shade under £600.

All depends on where you live though. I moved less than 5 miles and it took £300 of my policy!

I went with A - Plan through a recommendation of Graeme at MMC when i bought the 111r - Auto torque my exisitng insurers with my S1 wouldnt quote me so moved to A Plan - only £200 more than my S1 on a brand new car worth 3 times as much!

£895 - im 27 with 0 no claims bonus and no convictions parked in a private car park

Worth a call - i will fish out the number if anyone want to give them a try

Was it Elephant that also cover you for 5 MSa approved track days a year as part of your terms?

The guy from Elephant didn't know what a trackday was so I gave up right there.

They do seem to try and shaft you on renewal for some reason. I talked my £750 odd renewal down to £580. 26 + 6 yrs NCB

Ha, you're kidding arent you? It's probably AON/Lotus Esteem your thinking of.

I'm with elephant, 26yo, 4yrs ncb, no convitions and 25yo girlfriend on the policy and I'm about £680.
