Got my A-plan renewal in a couple weeks ago. Had gone up from roughly £750 to £850 (with company A) after yet another claim free year.

Renual letter therefore said they had found a "better" insurance company and that it would be roughly £780

now. Still more than last year though.

Long story cut short.

Got a couple of competitive quotes from using t'internet and basically told A-plan. Insurance company A then near-as-damn-it matched the best like for like quote.

Now this year will be £600. Result.

Lesson for the day - shop around. They DO want your business. They just hope you are too lazy to check whats competitive out there.

I was exactly the same with A-plan - renewal went up by about £30 so did a bit of shopping around and managed to get them down by about £200

for the sake of a morning on the phone there are always cheaper quotes out there
