Can anyone recommend a good outdoor fitted cover for the S1? Not looking for the cheapest, just the best.

I've seen the Eliseparts (Monsoon) one, and it looks cr*p.

I tried a generic small car Halfords cover but couldn't get it to stay on the car. The undercar string snapped a lot and I had to fetch it from the trees.

Anyone got a nice fitted one? Where did it come from? Even better, anyone got one for sale?

Ive got a Specialised Car Cover and its fantastic. They aint cheap though!
I think they cost around £200 and they are custom fit!

AFAIK, car covers are generally a fairly bad idea because when it's windy it'll move about and do more damage to the paint than it would get if it sat outside uncovered. Unless of course you plan to wash and dry it every time you park it up, which I doubt

My cover barely moves and inch when in place, its got 4 lots of straps, (2 underneath the main body and 1 each end). I do wash it before i use it though!

Simon is spot on: all covers are gash! I bought a coverzone one that was elasticated front & rear and had 2 straps pass underneath the car. Notwithstanding that, the cover moved about enough to put scratches on my wings, front & rear of the clam.

You can't put em on when the car's wet, or if its dirty. Even if you polish the car then apply the cover, the problem may be that when you last took the cover off it was wet; without go-go gadget arms, part of the cover will have ended up on the deck, and small bits of dirt etc will get onto the inside of the cover. From then on, its a losing battle!

Your car will survive outdoors, and a cover won't make people less likely to vandalise etc... it'll just make neds more curious!

Save the cash for trackdays

Greg, you've convinced me! I know Stephen is against them as his dad's elan had the same problem.

Think i'll just stick to the shower cap and extend the fence down the driveway around the car...

What he said.... also they aint sea gull proof.. if you go for the silver one its a pretty good colour match for silver duct tape. trust me I know.
