Hi guys,

I'm new here, haven't posted in the newbeis section yet  but I will :thumbsup

I saw mention about a clay bar I just thought I would mention the "Cellophane Test"

This will tell you if your car needs claying, it's real simple just get yourself a cigarette wrapper (cellophane) after washing you car (can do it before washing aswell) rub your fingers lightly over the paint, chances are it will feel very smoth, then place your fingers inside the cellophane and do the same it may feel like rough cast has been used to paint your car

I can just see the replies now "rub fingers over paint" , "place fingers inside cellophane" ........try it I guarantee you'll be amazed

Hi Stu...

Can't see myself doing this but does sound interesting.

Ally R on here is a professional detailer and posts on here - so would be interesting to see what he says :thumbsup

may be too early in morning to get this, but what do you do?

rub the bodywork with a bit of cellophane between your fingertip and the paintwork?? :?:

Yes, although best to try it without the cellophane first so that you can appreciate the dif between with and without!

Okay, quick Q - do you think it'd be sensitive enough to pick up on this:
