Scottish Elises

whats the best way to get the fuel filler cap looking shiny new again. i use autosol on the tail pipes but not sure if this will be too harsh for it. the cap looks dull and kind of blotchy.

Never tried to shine it up to date, TBH. However if I were to try, I'd try with...

toothpaste
Mer
T-cut
Duraglit

in that order. Toothpaste can do a remarkably good job, especially the "whitening" varieties!

No warranty supplied with the above advice BTW...try it entirely at your own risk!

I do mine with wifeys silver polish or brasso, have also used Duraglit and that special stuff in a tube, all worked fine with no scratching.

Just cleaned N1's exhaust tail pipes inside and out with brillo pads then Brasso and they came up like new.

i started off with the toothpaste then felt kinda silly when the minty fresh smell was wafting about so i decided to go with the autosol. top job it made too. it is really shiny now, like, dazzling even!! god i was never this anal with my last cars. is this what owning an elise is like??
