foot long scratch thro to the gel coat - chips away

Post by Scottd » Wed May 02, 2007 11:29 pm

The car 'received' a score on the rear clam a couple of weeks ago, just above the drivers side rear wheel arch and was really pretty nasty. Whether it was keyed or it was the guys workin on the roof at my work (and their step ladders) I'll never know.

Anyways, I took it to chips away in Dundee, the guy did an amazing job and for just £60 I'm extreemly happy w it! Everyone who saw it scratched can't believe how good a job he did. I took it to a paint shop and they said they'd have to clear coat the entire rear clam to do it properly, at a cost of £250. When you add the stickers, stone guards etc that would of probably ended up at about £300.

Anyways, I know 'chips away' get mixed reviews but I guess it all depends on who's running the franchise. As far as the Dundee one goes it get a big thumbs up from me!
