Dodgy paint scheme ??

Post by Matelotman » Sat Jan 26, 2008 4:13 pm

I'm thinking about painting my front clam to clear up the stone chips....but, I have a crazy notion of incorporating some yellow (on green) DBR9 style or Lotus 38. Not exactly an original idea and I'm not sure if it would turn out ok?? What's your thoughts? If I'm in cuckoo land and being a kn0b then tell me...... that's not carte blanche for torrents of abuse of a general nature

I really like this one

Image

I have never seen it in the flesh and can't find any more pictures of it. It appears to have been repainted in proper British racing Green and I seem to recall seeing pictures showing the yellow stripe running "through" the windscreen onto the dash.

I think the picture was taken on a Stelvio trip a few years ago

Not sure. Could work but only if you got the correct yellow and a good spray job.

But then how would we ever know? Tis always in hibernation.........

Cheers for that pic - that's the first one I've seen done and to be honest..... I'm not too convinced, I think it would be difficult to pull off correctly. I think you're right about the "right" colour of green, mine is Lotus Racing Green which is metallic and I'm not sure it would look right.

 It is still in hibernation but, yesterday the cover came off, charger removed and the engine flashed up on the first turn of the key - new exhaust hangers arrived last week and will be fitted in the next couple of days....may be out to play soonish

Give me a call when you are ready.

Went out cruising today, lovely mild sunny day, to see if there were any bikes or cars out for a run, but nothing, so just enjoyed myself on empty roads.

Can not believe that I lived with the instability of the car since I got back from FF6 in August, it just wanted to throw itself off the road.

Must have been the flat spotted front tyres, as when I fitted Robins kindly donated Maxsports, she was back to normal.

I know that I am biased, but try a S/C Honda S1 Elise on the road before you hang your clogs up.
