Touch Up Paint - Graphite Grey Mettalic

Post by G-Man » Sat Jan 12, 2008 10:23 pm

Hi

Dinged my front splitter today :(

It didn't crack or anything as it was just a little bump at very slow speed. The thing is, the guy who had it before me painted the splitter, rear wing etc, same colour as the body, like an exige S.

So, it's chipped a big flake of the paint off. So i'm looking for some touch up paint in graphite grey mettalic to try to spruce it up a bit.

There was a previous post directing towards elise parts, but they don't have the one I need which is paint code B108 (as on SELOC). They have graphite grey B80 and gunmetal B88, but no B108.

I want to get as good a match as possible. Anyone know where else I can get this specific one?

Cheers

G, would you not be aswell getting the splitter taken off and re-sprayed the same colour? Would only cost like £30 and atleast then the paint blends on the splitter without looking like youve touched it up

Ask Lotus dealer to order part A082B6418F which is the touch up pen code for B108

Touch up paint

Post by G-Man » Mon Jan 14, 2008 2:18 pm

Thanks for the replies.

I suppose I just assumed it would be a lot more than 30quid get the splitter sprayed, but if that's the case I'll probably go for that.

Thanks Delands too, I'll probably get the touch up paint too for the stone chips!

What's the easiest or best way to get the splitter off? Do you jack up the front of the car to get in behind it, and what are the connections?

Cheers

:withstupid

But if you go for it - then jack it up unbolt it and take it to a garage...

Would be closer to 100 I think though....

As they would sand it all back down and re-do it... Costs a lot more than just a coat of paint

I had my hardtop from my S1 Elise sprayed silver by a place in Rutherglen - cost was £40 plus a tenner for the paint. PM me if you want the details and I`ll dig them out, was top notch job.

sounds good I got quoted £90 but that was repairing a couple of chipped corners as well.
