Ohh, interesting. It was in that household for 15 years at least, always outside too.

Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?

As mentioned in the winter tyre thread, we’re one less member of the Skoda appreciation society now. Our Octavia vRS which we bought new in April 2011 died on Feb 22. High pressure fuel pump disintegrated which left it beyond economical repair. Had to find a replacement in a hurry and since I now h...

Re: S1 parts to hoard??

The headlights ship has sailed which is a shame as I don’t like any of the other options that have come up. MMC pads I’ve ordered 2 sets just in case but of course there are normal brakes available, things like exhausts etc are easy to have one made clams can likely be repaired, probably hubs etc, b...

Re: S1 auction

I wonder what happened here:
https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/199 ... elise-s1-6

Seems a very cheap end price for an S1 with 50k on it these days.

I'm doing it this week! Think I'll order the stockings off Amazon though. Cheers.
I’d go with an Asda or Tesco trip. Use Amazon and you’ll be getting ads for women’s underwear for the next 5 years

Re: Update on my S1

I turned the fan on in the car and a whole load of debris just keeps coming out. Buy some stockings. Open the front bonnet, pull off the aluminium bendy hose that joins the heater box to the cabin in the middle of the front bonnet area. Fit 1x stocking in the hole, as a filter. Enjoy not having dea...

Re: S1 auction

Presumably the higher prices are in part due to the US 25 year rule, and speculation around it?

Re: New(ish) car .. not really Lotus Content and a long wait..

I was hardly at the car as it's a real social now, I spent loads of time chatting with folk, but I did see you leaving....and you do know what I look like as we did that run to Montrose a few years back when you followed my Cerb in your S1  :thumbsup Of course! There was a guy in a… tweed ...

Re: New(ish) car .. not really Lotus Content and a long wait..

Looking good Jim - here's hoping this crosses paths with my old girl at some point for some 70s nostalgica Italiano  Good to see it at Bacon and Brakes yesterday, what an amazing looking thing. The colour is even more impressive in person, the cheeky yellow sump guard sets it off nicely to...

Re: My Emira has landed :-)

I see JayEmm has reviewed a local Emira on the A90 to Glamis road.

Nice to see that stretch being used as a road I've driven probably thousands of times, also interesting to see what you can do with footage of about 5 miles of road :)

Re: Can i look at your s2 Elise?

Did you get your gearshift fixed? You’re welcome to have a play with the Prodimex shifter in my S1 if you’re thinking about it - will be at various events over the next few months What did you do with the plastic surround? Mine sits high over the Prodimex, haven't had a chance to trawl the SELOD th...

agreed, nice watch.

I'll try to make the next Rhynd meet if I remember, looks like a nice event without the need to travel all that far!
The road in isn't such a problem with my more-worn toys :D

Re: Please please don't stay silent

Maybe not the first place you’d think to come for help or advice but we have a wide variety of experience and opinions here. Sorry for singling out this one line, lots of great posts here. Realistically we are quite possibly the demographic who are least likely to talk about this stuff. The stigma ...
