Re: Tour de France

Just back from 4 stages in the Alps. Great at 2.5km to go to summit of L'Alpe for 2 laps with a Flanders party tent a few yards away stirring up a big atmosphere and conga. Shame for Tejay after bravely leading up both laps only to get pipped to summit each time. Watched Cav warm up at start at Bour...

Re: England got dicked

Italy 22 - 15 Ireland Full time Wales 30 - 3 England Full time France 23 - 16 Scotland Full time It's a close call as to which was the most embarrassing result of the day................ losing to Italy, getting hammered by the defending champions, or losing to the wooden spoon? Obviously not a good...

Re: Caterham Roadsport

My 7 is too slow for the tracks like KH, but is very compliant on the road as Martin should remember from our Lochinver pie run a few years back. At Kames, even with me a the wheel, it amazed the VX contingent. The 7 has a heater that works too, which is more than can be said for my S2. Nobody has m...

Re: Top Gear Jamesh Bond Shpeshul

The film isn't bad either.

Great acting talent in Edinburgh too. I was impressed by the convincing look of utter surprise on the faces of people arriving immediately before or even after the published start time of a sold out show, only to find their favourite seats were already taken................

Re: BTCC knockhill this weekend

I spent the day at the top of Duffus and quite enjoyed the day's racing. Plenty of action there. In the Porsche Cup, there was Rory trying to destroy the whole grid, but he only managed to take 2 out. However, throughout the day we were perplexed by the seemingly random or inconsistent flag waving a...

Re: Italian Car and Bike Day

At only £299,950, what's stopping you Jim?? Just the colour I guess.

Some lovely cars in the car park too. A fabulous Austin Healey 3000 was parked near us. A couple of Nobles and a very shiny Sagaris in the British corner.

Muse always a poor second to Radiohead, but Ed Sheeran should be shot for his massacre of Wish you were here. What was Nick Mason doing on stage for that.

Pretty good celebration all the same...........

Re: Blue S2 Elise and Cateram (B792 Linlithgow to Bathgate)

My Caterham and Brian's 135. I thought it would be you as there can't be too many orange Europas in West Lothian. As we passed on the apex of the sharpest hairpin I was glad it wasn't some VXR Corsa. The speed bumps are a bit brutal lower down, but it's still a nice wee run over.

Re: ad07 tyre alternative?

I meant to add that I thought AD08's only came in 205 so they don't fit the standard 5.5" rims, but compared with Murray's outrageous prices they can offer a more sensible rear tyre choice. I am told they are the same compound and look almost identical, so front AD07's and rear AD08's looked sensibl...

Re: ad07 tyre alternative?

Even Ronnie won't do £400 for a full set of AD08s on an S2, but you should check out his latest prices whenever you are at KH as he isn't normally betaen for Yoko's.

Re: Just saw my ideal 90's classic (NLC)

A guy in the 7's club traded in an Alpine and bought a lovely R300 - much better suited to Scottish roads. It was a blat with us that made him get rid of the Renault a couple of years ago!

Nice to meet you on Sunday Stuart. Your tall thin chap was Myles - he has a black and Ali Caterham, but apparently spends all his time driving a megablade these days.

Eliseparts do AD07 for about £130/front (delivered) or £600 for a full set, but you need a fitter then - should still be ble to get £15/corner,

Re: S2 K Series Head Gasket Has Gone

Last time my dad got a Rover 25 head off, skimmed for HGF bill was £380. Lotus access is obviously more difficult so add an extra couple of hours in and out and the number Mark quotes looks like a good expectation at £500-550. At £800 you can a lot more than the head checked out and sorted. At over ...
