Re: Bye, Bye Lou Lou..

Whos had an E92 M3? What like? I had an E90 M3 alongside my trusty E90 330i. It was certainly very quick, but imo felt a bit over-complicated and precious. The suspension and engine mode buttons could completely change the character of the car, but still left me feeling it was not a sensible thing ...

Re: Passport Renewal. FALC

I've just renewed online with electronic photo. Provided that your new photo is reasonable likeness of the old passport photo, no need to get verified other than just sending in your old passport. My new photo portrayed much baldness and beard, and it compared favourably with 10 years ago (less bald...

Re: Dealing with Millennials - 15 mins wisely spent

Very good. I sent a link to my 22 yr old son. He said he had seen it already as it has been viral on FB. Ironic maybe....
He did recognise a lot of the traits mentioned though, and is certainly not one of those who expects instant "impact" in the workplace.

Porsche Cayenne wheels with winter tyres

On the off chance that someone on here has a post-2010 Cayenne and would like to purchase a cheap set of winter wheels/tyres see my ebay ad. Winter is coming apparently. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-Cayenne-19-Wheels-and-Winter-Tyres-/142116192230?hash=item2116c8ffe6:g:LCsAAOSwgmJX17QA Purchase...

Re: Broadband speed

Is satellite broadband an option? When we lived in the Drumoak hinterland best we could do was 0.15 mb/s, 5 miles from exchange. Was thinking about satellite, apparently can get 20 mb/s via your Sky satellite dish, but not sure if any drawbacks. We moved to downtown Banchory a year ago, one of the r...

Re: Cayenne diesel remap

Test drove the V6 diesel which was fine, but we bought the V8 diesel which is on a different level with respect to available thrust. Not sure where the V6 remap would add the torque, if across a wide operating range it would be worth it, but if only extending the top end a bit probably best to leave...

Yup, a set of winter wheels/tyres essential to avoid becoming a stereotype @rse in 4x4 with 21" wheels and 35 section tyres whenever it snows. It is pretty good in the snow with the right boots.

Re: What to replace the Rangerover sport with?

Replaced my RRS with a Cayenne Diesel S. Much more like a car than RR and far better in every way (except perhaps if you are really off-roading). I don't tow with it, but I think it would be pretty good given weight and 625 ft-lbs torque. V8 Diesel S not quite as ridiculous a weapon as a petrol Turb...

Re: Top Gear Christmas Special,

Although TG show the usual predicable stuff, the scenery and terrain in Tierra del Fuego did get me thinking about hiring a 1200GS in Santiago and heading down to the end of the world some time. Looks like outstanding adventure bike country. Wonder if the Argentinian locals are generally hostile to ...

Re: Flashed by a camera on A1

Was flashed on A590 in Lake district a few months ago, was weird little GATSO on high pole so assume must have been computerised one rather than film (otherwise they would need a cherry picker to recover the film). Nothing ever came of it, I couldn't have been much more than 67 in 60 on that occasio...

Re: What a day !!!!

Ran with you for a bit from Kildrummy to Lecht - was on bike behind until I nipped by in Strathdon, then in front. Good day on bike too although a bit greasy in places so was a bit wary leaning on it in twisty damp bits. Hopefully I didn't hold you up too much going up Lecht road. Guessed you must h...
