lotus used to fix this problem by cleaning the corrosion and then glueing a new floor into the footwell
dont know if they still do it

you can take off the steering wheel and check to see that there is grease on the brass ring that the contact for the horn runs on,some cars did not have grease put on at lotus

if you are going to get your friend to do the gasket make sure that the engine is cold before he takes the head off.and have it checked to see that it is not warped.and yes do the cam belt .and do the thermostat to as it is easy to do with the head off

yes the broken flexipipe will let in air and cause it to fail the emissions test.fix the flexipipe and get you car retested it should pass ok

you cant fit a siren ,the one in your car is not just a siren it has electronics in it that are part of the alarm and it will only work with the control box that it is matched to
