Re: Toyota GT86 (NLC)

I have recently bought one.......and I'm very happy with it :D After changing my CaymanS and the everday Fabia vRS for a blingy white Golf Gti VI with DSG, I realised I still had a pulse. The Golf suited me for everyday duties but I never gelled with it as it ain't much fun to pedal. My initial test...

Re: Porsche

I think relative affordability is the main reason for the numbers and clearly once you've done the BMW/Audi thing it is the next rung up. If you consider the cost of a '80s 911 and the seemingly un-affordable cost of ownership for all but high flying banker types, to now when they are relatively far...

Re: Gran Tourismo 6

I have had a chance to play GT6 and would agree it is the game 5 should have been from the off, though 5 did improve greatly as it was patched. Having been an Xbox 360 player I had always preferred F4 but as GT got better I started to look for a more Sim orientated experience. One of the PC's from t...

Re: Dealer p*ss take thread

I could probably post a few Porsche Edinburgh comments but on the whole apart form the ridiculous cost of general servicing the best p#sstake was........ 'your rear off side indicator bulb is faded, it'll pass an MOT but we could replace it' (Cayman was in for its free winter check)...........'ok!! ...

If you look at the highway code; 66 You should (as a cyclist) ................................... never ride more than two abreast, and ride in single file on narrow or busy roads and when riding round bends not ride close behind another vehicle..................... be considerate of other road user...

Re: New 991 GT3

Would be keen to hear the thoughts of others on these gearboxes. I went from a Cayman S (quick shift) and Fabia vRS, both manual, to a Golf GTi with DSG.........I now would would not buy without some form of semi-auto (997 GT3 being the exception). The ease of use for a daily driver around town can...

Re: That moment in the morning...

End of the month for me as well, only been here since I was 17 so 29 years  Plan is to carry on providing Architectural Services as a sole trader for now. Still have a couple of reasonable sized projects in the pipeline and domestic jobs come along as and when. Not sure I'd be able to work 'f...

Re: Porsche Valuation Assistance... calling the Boag etc!!

I'll take a stab.............Paul French, in Derbyshire? Cobalt Blue, grey interior.

Nice colour, low mileage, which for an everyday is a good start, but the sport buckets would do my creaky back no favours........ :thumbsup.

Re: Planning advice

Neighbour notification is now carried out by the Planning Department, in the past the obligation was on the Applicant to notify. I think from what you say the housing is being undertaken by the Cooncil? Regardless this should IMO have been notified to the individual neighbouring properties. There ar...

Re: Cycling - NLC

Scott I like the Cervelo, a two year old frame has plenty life left in it and the groupset as long as it is well maintained should last long enough. I had the same model 105 shifter fail on the front mech side I think due to the pressure required to shift. They were replaced with a set of the newer ...

Re: quality desktop computer speakers

I would suggest, as it is a good sized room to go for an amp and a set of bookshelf speakers, for the budget there are loads of options. Richer sounds would be able to do something say.............. http://www.richersounds.com/product/bookshelf-speakers/q-acoustics/2010i/qaco-q2010i-wal http://www.r...

Re: Cycling - NLC

G, I would recommend the Tacx range on the whole. I have a Sirius, which is a very basic trainer but if you have the correct attitude and are happy enough either working up your own routines or looking on t'internet for training guides it will do the job adequately. A mate has a Flow, to which he ha...
