Flat battery-again

Hi Guys and Gals, My S1 Elise battery has never held its charge for more than five days or so. It got a little better after I disconnected the alarm whose re-chargeable batteries were gone. Now, after a few months have passed when I charge the battery with my Accumate the Accumate goes green but the...

Re: Shocks, chalk and insurance

A quick follow up, I got new collars for the shocks from Elise Parts and have now fitted them, not a five minute job but I am glad I did it. Most of the collars were not as bad as they looked but two were dire. I used a couple of spring compressors off ebay and in truth they were a bit clumsy. The b...

1999 S! Cobra Alarm 5370?

Hi folks, I am still having probs with my battery going flat after a few days. My alarm buzzer unit does not work so I took it off and had a look. It is corroded inside and the back up batteries are a mess. Can you get spares for this or can anyone do a repair? The rest of the alarm seems to work co...

Re: alloy wheels

Just to let you all know that I took my elise wheels (two at a time) to Pentland and they did a great job for about £190.00. The wheels were also perfectly balanced. A good job all round - with a smile as well!

Re: Shocks, chalk and insurance

Hi, one other thing. When my broker phoned the underwriter, they knew all about this upgrade
so they are probably more knowledgeable than we all realise. Regards.

Shocks, chalk and insurance

Hi folks, it is the 'L' plate elise S1 again!. I have had my wheels shot blasted, powdercoated and repainted by Pentland. The look simply fabulous. I would not have believed that they could come up so well. Great job an not too expensive. Of course whilst the wheels were off (two at a time) I had a ...

Re: Battery

The battery is now lasting a week without charging and started strongly. I have not yet manged to leave it for more that that. The only thing that I did was to clean up the fuses. The 50amp light fuse was corroded quite a bit but I don't see how that should drain power if everything is switched off....

Re: brake pipes

Thanks for all your help folks. I have had another look and I can just see the union from the wheel arch. As was rightly pointed out it is awkward but I reckon the best plan would be to cut off the rubber section leaving just the metal end and use a box spanner to try and remove it. Sods law will di...

Re: brake pipes

Regards.

brake pipes

HI folks, i am still here with my elise 'L plates' on! I took off a front wheel and back wheel (to send for refurb) and had a look at the brake flexible hoses which I think should be replaced soon. I cannot work out what happens when they disappear into the body of the car. Where do the meet the uni...

Battery

Hi thanks for you help again. Here is my next 'new to Elise basic probs ' The car battery goes flat after two or three days, even after putting in a new battery (Bosch S5 - what a pain to do, how come automotive design and consultancy engineers came up with the Elise battery lay out!) This is a prob...

Cam Belts

Hi folks, I wish to get the cam belt changed on my S1 Elise but Murray can't book it in until well into September. Does anyone have any other suggestions, I am sure that this must be a well trodden path!
